Postgraduate Diploma in Arts

In the Postgraduate Diploma in Arts you can choose from a wide range of papers, creating a very flexible course of study.

In this one-year intensive programme you can select advanced level papers in language and culture, or Māori development. You develop advanced knowledge in your chosen area, and further your critical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills. The programme also prepares you for further postgraduate study.

Minimum entry requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts OR
  • Graduate Diploma in Arts OR
  • Relevant professional experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree

English language requirements

Applied Language Studies

  • IELTS (Academic) 6.5 overall with 7.0 in Writing and all other bands 6.0 or higher; or equivalent

Other specialisations

  • IELTS (Academic) 6.5 overall with all bands 6.0 or higher; or equivalent

The Postgraduate Diploma in Arts is a 120-point coursework programme. You need to successfully complete 120 points from papers in the Master of Arts.

If you successfully complete this programme you may have the opportunity to proceed to the Master of Arts or the Master of Philosophy.
